Jason Binder Announces Campaign for Alpharetta City Council Post 5
Rotarian, Design Review Board Member wants a Shared Vision of Successful Growth While Sustaining Alpharetta’s Core Identity.
After becoming a father, I made a conscious effort to become more involved in my community. Whether serving as a Rotarian, Design Review Board member or the Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation Board, I have worked to improve our community and the future of my girls’ hometown. My desire is to keep Alpharetta a special place to raise our families, have a great job and spend time with our friends and neighbors.
After careful consideration, and with the support of my family, I have decided to run for Alpharetta City Council, Post 5. I believe that I can make a difference during a critical time for Alpharetta and work towards a shared vision of successful growth while sustaining our strong core identity and values.
First and foremost, I want my girls to have the same opportunities and experiences that I had growing up. I will work so that they can enjoy our parks and open green areas to play. As they get older, they should be able to spend the day outside and safely walk and bike throughout town without concern that there is not enough room on our streets to safely share the road.
Like most working parents, Nicolette and I do not take our family time for granted. When we leave the office, we want to spend less time in traffic and more time together. As one of the fastest growing cities in the country, it is critical that we prioritize and address our biggest congestion bottlenecks.
I do not plan to do this on my own. Alpharetta has a strong, active community that should play a crucial role in creating a shared vision of Alpharetta’s future. I have experienced the power of people in our community working together while serving on the executive board of the Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce and as a co-organizer of the Alpharetta Day of Service and with over 500 volunteers.
I am proud to call Alpharetta home. It’s the place where we started our family and where I have had the opportunity to start and grow my business. The next few years of growth for Alpharetta will define our city for decades. I would be honored to serve as your Councilman and make sure that Alpharetta continues to feel like home for all of us.
